Merry Day After Christmas

I Happy Holidays Ya'll!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas weekend. It was awesome that
Christmas was on Sunday! It was a special opportunity to worship the
Savior on His day. :)

Our week was a little slow because many people were busy due to the
holiday seasons. And the weather has been super bad too. Nevertheless,
we keep working despite the bad weather! The Lord's work goes on in
all temperatures!:)

Although the week itself was slow, we saw a handful of great miracles.
One happened last Monday. We were driving back from an unexpected
dinner appointment, and as we were driving I had the thought to turn
down the next street and go to the Robichaud's home. I shook off the
thought because we were already going to Kayla's home and we had
limited time. I felt awful the whole ride there, and I told myself:
"Well, if it was God telling me to go there, then Kayla won't be
home."
Yep. She wasn't home.
So we go back. We arrived and at first no one answered....I felt
pretty lame! Then, Sister Robichaud answers and chats with us for a
few minutes. She talked about some bad experiences she had a church in
Idaho, and was about to politely turn us away. The we asked if we
could show her the Christmas video, and she was all for it! She
promptly invited us into her home and we had a very good lesson, where
the spirit softened her heart. She asked us if we could meet with her
again! I have no doubt that we were sent there for a reason, and
everyone there was uplifted. The Christmas spirit really warms souls,
and opens previously closed doors.

We also met a man named Ralph who shared an amazing spiritual
experience with us. Mind you, we met him on the street in the
dark...sometimes it blows my mind when people share such personal, but
wonderful things with us. That could only be happening because of the
spirit! We are going back to teach him next week.

It was a hard week, but a great one. We had a lot of people say no to
our message, but those few that said yes are always worth the work we
put in. I just love serving the Lord!:)

Have a great week you guys! Enjoy New Years!

Remember our Heavenly Father loves you!
"God’s promises are sure and certain. We can be forgiven of our sins
and cleansed from all unrighteousness. And if we continue to embrace
and live true principles in our personal circumstances and in our
families, we will ultimately arrive at a point where we “hunger no
more, neither thirst any more. … For the Lamb which is in the midst of
the throne shall feed [us], and shall lead [us] unto living fountains
of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from [our] eyes.'"

Oh Snow

We really got hit with snow this morning. Around 6 inches overnight!
Now we must plan an extra 15 minutes to clean off the car in the
morning! Wooooooo

This week has been so much fun! Having an old companion all over agin
is fantastic! We have both grown a lot but we get along great. We have
seen lots of miracles together! Here are a few from this week!

Let's start with Janet. She walked past us with a heavy cart so we
hopped out of our car (it was parked) to see if we could help. We got
to talking and she said she had been to our church before. Of course
that started another conversation which led to how the Book of Mormon
relates to Native American culture. We told her that it was a record
of the ancestors of the natives Americans, and we were able to testify
that it would bring her closer to Christ as well. She happily accepted
a copy and invited us back. From that I learned that you should never
hesitate to help someone, even if it is like 15 degrees outside!:)

We were asked by the bishop to go and visit a woman in Saco who had a
recent loss. Come to find out she is a friend of some people I know in
Portland! We had a great conversation with her, and offered her our
message of peace. She was very touched! I was glad that I was able to
be exactly where the Lord needed me to be so I could have a connection
with her!

Lastly, Sister Castleton was so meant to be here. Nan investigator was
talking with us about how he received spiritual knowledge in an
unusual way...and it turns out Sister Castleton had had a similar
experience. The lord knows us, guys!!!!!!

I hope you all are participating in #LighttheWorld! For today's act of
service, I want to share my favorite scripture that relates Christ to
light. It is 3 Nephi 18:24 :"Therefore, hold up your light that it may
shine unto the world. Behold I am the light which ye shall hold
up--that which ye have seen me do."
Christ is telling us that He has shown the way. We have many examples
of how to uplift others and bless lives. All we need to do is look in
the scriptures!

Have a fantastic week!

Old Orchard and Old Friends!

Hey Ya'll!

Well transfers came! And my new companion is actually an old friend!
Sister Castleton! We were companions in our trio in Farmington 6
months ago! It will be nice to be with an old friend during Christmas!

Oh it is so beautiful here! Everyone has lights up and the big thing
here is to have candles in the window! So you better believe we put
one in our window! Don't worry, they are fake battery powered ones ,
so fire hazards here!

It was a great week, and a busy one! We went to two holiday festivals
and one parade! We even caroled on the streets of Saco. I love the
Christmas songs because they teach such beautiful truths about the
Savior. It is a great time to reflect and see what things we can do to
bring ourselves closer to the Savior.

Only a little time this week. I'll write more next week!

Love,

Sister Lescarbeau
