Trio in a Triage of Trees

I Hello to the coolest people I know!

Another week here in Farmington has passed so quickly! And it has been
a pretty good week! We have been working so so hard! And our diligence
is definitely being rewarded. There has still been some hard days but
the Lord always gives us tender mercies, little miracles, every day.

We have had some great times with the members this week! One that we
were able to see was Sister Wells, and she was having a really hard
week. So it was pretty cool because she said that before we randomly
stopped by that she was laying in bed wondering if her day could
possibly be any worse.....and we knocked! She said that we saved her
day! And then she came to church , and she hasn't been a while.

We were able to get two new investigators this week, a mother and a
daughter! It was pretty cool because we were driving past a random
street and felt prompted to try a potential there. The potential
wasn't there, but we were able to talk to Jessica and Kim on their
front lawn! They are way excited to learn and just before we left we
have them both a Book of Mormon and Jessica said "as soon as you leave
I am going right in and reading this!" It is amazing to see where the
spirit will guide.

A topic that seemed to come up again and again this week has been
loving one another. It is so essential for anyone who wants to be like
Christ to strive to love all those we come into contact with. I have
learned on my mission that we can never know how much our kindness can
mean to someone. The prophet, President Thomas S Monson said it best:

"We cannot truly love God if we do not love our fellow travelers on
this mortal journey. Likewise, we cannot fully love our fellowmen if
we do not love God, the Father of us all. The Apostle John tells us,
“This commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his
brother also.” We are all spirit children of our Heavenly Father and,
as such, are brothers and sisters. As we keep this truth in mind,
loving all of God’s children will become easier."

So reach out and show someone you care this week! People don't care
how much you know until they know how much you care!😊😊

Lotsa loves!

Three Heads are Better Than Two

Hello World!

This week has been very busy! So it has flown by very quickly. On Monday night we left for exchange in Bangor with Sister Hallam and Sister Dickson. I had a great exchange with Sister Dickson, and we did a lot of finding. It was a little bit of a wake up call for me, and I resolved to more trying to find people. We also just talked about the trio and she gave some great advice. She is such a great Sister Training leader! I am grateful for all I learned from her.

We saw a lot of miracle as we implemented what we learned about finding. We were able to have some great contacts, and also get a solid referral! It was amazing because right as we finished up some street contacting we got a call from a woman named Jane who heard that we do service. She wants some help with some things around her house and wants to hear our message! So it was pretty cool to see that almost instantaneous result!

Other than doing more finding, the work is about the same. We are still meeting with Penny and she is coming along. Ellen is struggling with commitments, but we had a great lesson with her. She is progressing as far as understanding and reading goes, but she just can't seem to get to church. We have a couple others we are trying to get into contact with, and I know we will be able to find those that are searching for this gospel.

Saturday we were able to meet Elder Rasband! It was pretty amazing to here from someone who also dedicates his whole life to serving our Savior! He gave us some great counsel, and I learned a lot about how to be a better missionary. As he was in that room with us I felt the Holy Ghost testify to me that this is truly the restored Church of Jesus Christ again on the Earth. I know that Christ is the head of this church. I know that Christ's church has righteous leaders, and I am so thankful for the opportunity I have to tell people about how much I love Christ and His chruch.

have a wonderful week you wonderful people!
Enjoy some pictures of my past companions, including the lovely and wonderful Sister Hamilton and Sister Bishop:)

Love you all,

Tenacious Trio ✌

Hello world!
Hope you all are doing well! I would love to hear how everything is
going for you guys!

Well, having three sister missionaries is definitely a challenge, but
we are having a lot of fun! We have done a lot of work this week, and
we taught some amazing lessons! We all teach very differently but we
complement  each other.

We were able to teach Ellen this week, and also do some service with
her. We really bore strong testimony of how church can be her
sanctuary an her refuge from the hard times. She said she really
needed that, and said she would try to make it to church. It is
amazing to see how serving others softens hearts.

Sister White came out teaching with us this week , and we saw Penny
with her. It was a great lesson, we taught the plan of salvation. It
was so cool to feel the spirit as we taught about how God has a plan
for each of us, you could tell Penny felt it. Sister White also really
enjoyed the experience. We are hoping she will inspire other members
to come teach with us.

We were finally able to get back into contact with Kristina! She told
us that she really worries about how the world is, and she wants to be
safe when Christ comes again. I just felt this wave of peace come over
me. I know that we have what she needs. I know that what 2 Timothy 1
verse seven says is true: "For God hath not given us the spirit of
fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." Christ and
Heavenly Father don't want us to fear. They want us to trust them, no
know that if we are on their side it will all work out.

This coming week is going to be a little crazy! We are going to be
headed to Bangor tonight and spending tomorrow with the Sisters there,
then on Saturday we are headed to Concord , New Hampshire. Elder
Rasband, a member of the twelve apostles(leader in our church) will be
talking with all the missionaries! I am sure I will have lots to
report!

Have a wonderful week! And don't forget to remember where all
blessings come from!

Only Thing Better Than Two....

IS THREEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(3)

That's right everyone. We are going to have another sister come and join us in Farmington! It was very surprising, but also exciting! Her name is SIster Castleton, and we will receive her tomorrow!

The work has been good this week. On Monday we had a great experience with some youth! A member of our ward asked us to come over and teach her grandchildren the lessons. It was a little awkward at first, but they warmed up after I cracked a few jokes. We had a great spiritual lesson with them, and they want to meet with us again. As I know I have said before, I love teaching youth because of my conversion story.

We saw the Peterken's this week and we were able to set a date for them to go to the temple. They were a little hesitant at first, but Sister Hawes read a little bit of an awesome talk and really committed them boldly! It worked out really well. The best part is that we just came up with the random date, June 11th.The next day, in a meeting at church,we found out it was the date of the next temple trip! It is amazing how we can all be guided by the Spirit of God.

We spent a ton of time working with members this week, and we saw so many miracles from it! We had a few members on Sunday tell us they had some people they were hoping we could teach!! We also had another sister offer to come out teaching with us once a week! I am so happy to see all the members getting more excited about and involved in missionary work.

I had an amazing time being able to speak to my family Sunday! It is really cool to have such amazing supporters. They also help me to see the best in myself, and how I have improved in my life, and how much I have grown since I first became a missionary nearly 9 months ago. The amazing change I have seen in myself and those I teach reminds me of a scripture in the Book of Mormon in Alma 5:  14
"...have ye spiritually been born of God? Have ye received his image in your countenances? Have experienced this mighty change in your hearts?"

I have a long way to go, but I know that little by little as each of us comes closer and closer to Christ, He will transform us! Our mighty change happens over and over again as we change our lives to be more like Christ. That is how we find real happiness, through His light.

Love you all! Here are some cool pictures of some hard work my companion and I did, and beautiful Maine!

Spiritual Spirits

This week was one of our slower ones, but we still saw many miracles. Especially with members. One was that we were able to go out and see the Bixby's. We haven't made it up there because they are quite aways away. We got a ride up there and shared a message with them. You could just tell they had been praying for visitors. The emotion they showed as we testified of our Savior's love for them touched my heart. I know that they felt His love in that moment. It was INCREDIBLE.

We were able to do a lot of service this week, and part of it included loading and stacking wood for about three hours! It was actually tons of fun! I feel like I am getting the full Maine experience! Now all I need to do is develop the accent and I am solid!

The member we stacked wood for, Brother Marden, was so grateful! He said we got a week's work of stacking done! There is no better feeling than when you are serving others! That is when I feel the closest to Christ, when I serve my brothers and sisters around me.

We were able to teach Penny again this week. She is progressing very well, and is excited about church. She loved how we don't just have one preacher, but that we have input from many members. She is excited to come to know these things are true for herself.

Well I have a challenge for you guys! Go out and find a way to serve someone this week! You'll be blessed, and you will be closer to Christ!

Have a great week! And give your Moms big hugs!!

Weeks Feel Like Days

👆So true

This week has flown by, in the best way possible! We have taught a lot of lessons, given out a few Book of Mormons, and have had so much fun! The best part is that we have gotten to know so many great people this week! I am so grateful for the opportunity i have to meet so many wonderful sons and daughter of our Heavenly Father!

We got to meet two teenage girls this week, Caitlyn and Madi! They were introduced to the church by a cousin, and have been going to the youth activities! they are eager to learn, and we had a great lesson with them! Teaching youth is dear to my heart, because I was converted as a youth!

On Wednesday we finally got to teach Kristina and Adam.  She loved our lesson about Christ and the Book of Mormon. She said she wants to know how Christ can help her overcome all the bad things in her life, and we testifies to her that it can be through following Him. The spirit was very strong in that home, it was amazing.

We got to teach Penny this week, and it was incredible! We taught her about the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and it was great! As we taught about the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith, it was reconfirmed to me the truthfulness of it all. I know that this church is Christ's kingdom on the Earth, and that it leads us to eternal life where we can be with our families forever. I know that she could feel the testimony I have, and Sis. Hawes' as she taught as well. It is true what they say, the ones who learn the most are the ones teaching!

Sunday was so amazing this week! We had two investigators attend, and it was an amazing service! Also, Sister Hawes and I were invited to the Primary (where the young children meet) to dress up as people from the Book of Mormon and tell the story of Christs' appearance! That was a hoot!

With all of the amazing things that have happened this week, I remind myself that it is all done through Christ. We are dependent on him and his grace, and by following Him we can see miracles in all aspects of our lives. He lives. He loves us. He invites us to follow Him. And i can promise you that following Him is where real happiness is. I have had times where I chose not to follow Him, and I can tell you that is not how we are meant to live. Real joy is found in His arms, where we are meant to be.

Love you all! Enjoy some fun pictures! We took a lot this week!

Think Spring!

Spring has finally made it to Maine and I couldn't be happier!

All our hard work is paying off, and it is an incredible blessing. I love seeing the gospel begin to take root in people's hearts. It changes them, in some way or another. And we could already see that in the people we have found this week. And we have found 5 new people to teach this week!

We taught a lot of lessons this week, and most were just basic lessons teaching about Christ's role in our lives. In the Book of Mormon it says of Christ:
And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.

And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities- Alma 7:11-12
I know that is true, because Christ has helped me many times in my life to come  It was amazing to feel the spirit that came into the room as we talked to so many people about Christ this week. Everyone we talked to had different journeys that have built their faith in their Savior. Hearing their stories has strengthened my own testimony this week!

Linda and Peter were some of those amazing people we talked to this week. Linda gained a strong testimony after her father passed away years ago and she shared her testimony that she knows we have nothing to fear because of Christ, even death. She has a really strong desire to know if our church is Christ's true church, so she has already been reading the Book of Mormon with some members of our congregation! We are seeing her next week, and I am so excited!

We also got to know Kera this week, who is a member but just recently came back to church this past week. We talked with her about why she decided to turn things around. She said that she wanted to raise her family with a faith in Christ, and that she was willing to do anything to get back to a good relationship with Christ. We also had a fun time talking about anything and everything! She is becoming a great friend also!:)

All around it was a great week, lots of fun times with Sis. Hawes. She is a riot!

Here are some pictures!!

Keep on Keepin' on you wonderful people!

Lots of Love

Sister L
