The temperature was quite high! After living in New England for 11 months (as of yesterday), I am so used to the crazy winters that anything above 87 is sweltering. Oh, well! At least I can sympathize with all the Mainers that are angry with the weather!:)
We had such a great week! The many miracles we have seen have shown me the goodness of the Lord.
We have been searing for a newly moved in person the whole time I have been here and we finally found him! He was recently baptized and just had difficulty finding the chapel here. We also met his wife, Nancy. She decided that she would really like to learn more about the church! She said that she would pray and read about the things we talked about. I am way excited to see where that will go.
We finally had a lesson with our Portuguese investigators(with a translator from the ward). Nicholau is really interested in why we value the Book of Mormon as much as the bible, so it has been great to testify of how they have both blessed my life. The scriptures are so powerful! We have been sending him texts with great verses and we hope that will help him be more familiar with it all. The lesson was really good, despite some weird misunderstanding in the translations.
Sister Draper and I have been teaching lots of people about having a great change of heart. We have shared this scripture in Alma 5 to illustrate: " Behold he changed their hearts, yea, he awakened them out of a deep sleep, and they awoke unto God. Behold, they were in the midst of darkness: nevertheless their souls were illuminated by the light of the everlasting word"
Think about a time when you have felt that. Wouldn't you love to be in that place again. We can have those experiences over and over again if we are diligent in seeking to follow Christ. When we want to be better, He will illuminate our live with His love and support. I know this because he has helped me become so much better. My life is the happiest it has ever been because of Him!
Have a great week guys!!!!
Here are some cool pictures of the Marsh Land in Scarborough! Some of the biggest marsh in the country!
