week I will have been in New England for one whole year! It is amazing
how time flies, and how much I have changed. I am forever grateful for
the opportunity I have to serve the Lord and the people of New
England, they are incredible!
This week we did a lot of finding! We knocked doors, talked to people
on the street, and contacted people with potential. We had a variety
of different responses, but a couple wonderful ones where we were able
to bear testimony of the power of our Savior and His restored church.
One person in particular was so moved by our message , and especially
my companion's testimony, that he said that we were some of the few
people that actually listened to him. It was amazing to be exactly
where Heavenly Father needed us to be to bless the life of one of his
beloved children.
Our investigators have kind of dropped off the map. We are going to
try to find lots of new ones this week. We are trying some new
methods, including praying for each person we want to see for the next
day specifically. It is a lot of names, but specific prayers bring
specific blessings!
This week was not the busiest week, but we were very high in spirits!
It is amazing how an attitude can change everything. A positive
attitude can change an impossible challenge into a manageable one!
There are great scriptures about that: 2 Cor 9: 7 Every man according
as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of
necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver." And also in the Book of
Mormon: " if a man being evil giveth a gift, he doeth it grudgingly;
wherefore it is counted unto him the same as if he had retained the
gift;"
If we do things we are supposed to do grudgingly, it will not change
us, or really do any good. If we have a positive attitude, and know
that obedience comes out of a love for our Savior, it makes the task
so much easier! So go out and serve someone, and know that you are
also serving God. And be happy!
I hope you all have a great week!
